INFO & RACE ROUTE

The Buckland Bounder is a scenic multi terrain run of just over 6 miles, starting and finishing in Buckland Monachorum.  The event is open to participants aged 17 years and over and the number of competitors is currently limited to 200.

The hilly route leads up from Buckland Monachorum onto Roborough Common at Alston crossing the Maristow Estate.  The views from here are amazing. The route then drops down over the open moor, through the woods to Lower Grenofen, crossing the river Walkham via a small bridge and turning left onto the bridlepath that follows the river. It crosses the footbridge over the river at Double Waters and bears right to Tavy Cottage, with a steep climb back up to the top of the open moorland. The route then bears right across the top of the open moor towards Berrator, again fantastic scenery, and goes through the gate behind the Buckland Monachorum Community Orchard, down a track until it meets the road. It then bears right and follows the road to Buckland Monachorum, going up Tor Hill and turning left for the run down the village hill to the finish line.

There will be a water station on the course but runners are encouraged to bring their own refillable containers.

There are various prize categories including the Drake Manor Shield for the fastest male and female local living in the parish of Buckland Monachorum (includes Clearbrook, Milton Combe and Crapstone).

Parking is available at the top of the village and this is clearly signposted.

Entrants are encouraged to pre enter the event rather than to enter on the day.

Registration and bag drop is located in the Buckland Chapel.
